The mission of Lamar County High/Vernon Intermediate School is to educate individuals and prepare them to achieve their highest level of independence and productivity in society.

Our Vision

It is the vision of Lamar County High/Vernon Intermediate School to ensure a rich educational environment that promotes critical thinking, literacy, and intellectual curiosity while preparing students to reach their highest level of success in a technologically advanced, global society.

Our Beliefs

  • Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process.

  • All teachers incorporate technology into their lesson plans from the LCHS/VIS Technology Plan.

  • All students participate in Response to Instruction (RTI) classes.

  • A safe and physically comfortable environment promotes student learning.
