Though the last forty years there has been various departments come and go. The school was renamed Lamar County School of Technology to emphasize the movement of career skills toward a more technological pathway. At present LCST has five departments of training: Automotive, Cosmetology, Healthcare, Machining, and Welding. LCST strives to prepare each student in the specific skills needed to function in a 21st century workforce.
