**Eligibility**: Children must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2025 (born between September 2, 2020, and September 1, 2021).

Must be a resident of Alabama.

**How to Register**: Complete the online pre-registration at prek.alaceed.alabama.gov.

Must upload a copy of the child's birth certificate and proof of Alabama residency.

**Important Information:** There is no registration fee for First Class Pre-K Porgrams.

No child will be denied participation based on income, sex, race, color, national origin, or disability.

Attendance at the random selection drawing is not required; results will be communicated via email.

**Lamar County School District was notified on January 7, 2025, of a recent cybersecurity incident involving PowerSchool, a widely used education software provider that provides our district’s student information system. On December 28, 2024, PowerSchool identified unauthorized access to certain customer information through its PowerSource portal. The company has assured us that the incident is contained, and there is no evidence of on going unauthorized activity or operational disruptions. Affected data may include sensitive personal information such as names, addresses, and email addresses. Social security numbers were not involved. PowerSchool has implemented enhanced security measures, deactivated the compromised credentials, and is offering credit monitoring and identity protection services for certain impacted individuals. Lamar County School District is working closely with PowerSchool to communicate with families, educators, and stakeholders.**

2025-2026 First Class Pre-K Registration

The Lamar County School's mass notification system will change to a new vendor called School Messenger on October 1st. In order to receive text messages, you will need to opt in to receive them per the instructions below. The new system will send out calls for any school closures due to weather or emergency calls. You will not receive a text message if you have not opted in to receive text messages on your phone.
