School Vaccine Clinic March 10th
Parents we will have a vaccine clinic March 10th 2025 at your child’s school for grades 5TH -12th , age 11 and above.
Tdap, Meningococcal, Meningococcal B and HPV vaccines will be offered. Please review the form and complete if you would like your child participate.
All forms must be return to your school nurse by March 7th 2025. Students going into the 6 th grade are required to receive the TDAP at age 11.

Eligibility: Children must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2025 (born between September 2, 2020, and September 1, 2021).
Must be a resident of Alabama.
How to Register: Complete the online pre-registration at prek.alaceed.alabama.gov.
Must upload a copy of the child's birth certificate and proof of Alabama residency.
Important Information: There is no registration fee for First Class Pre-K Porgrams.
No child will be denied participation based on income, sex, race, color, national origin, or disability.
Attendance at the random selection drawing is not required; results will be communicated via email.

Parent Teacher Conference
All Lamar County schools will dismiss Thursday, January 16, 2024 at 11:30 for Parent Teacher conferences. Vernon Elementary will dismiss at 11:15. Conferences will be held from 3:00 to 6:00.
PowerSchool Cybersecurity Incident in AL Schools
Lamar County School District was notified on January 7, 2025, of a recent cybersecurity incident involving PowerSchool, a widely used education software provider that provides our district’s student information system. On December 28, 2024, PowerSchool identified unauthorized access to certain customer information through its PowerSource portal. The company has assured us that the incident is contained, and there is no evidence of on going unauthorized activity or operational disruptions. Affected data may include sensitive personal information such as names, addresses, and email addresses. Social security numbers were not involved. PowerSchool has implemented enhanced security measures, deactivated the compromised credentials, and is offering credit monitoring and identity protection services for certain impacted individuals. Lamar County School District is working closely with PowerSchool to communicate with families, educators, and stakeholders.
