Hi! My name is Mary Kathryn Bozeman and I am the high school counselor at South Lamar. I work with students in 7th – 12th grade. I am a graduate of South Lamar School from the Class of 1993. I attended the University of South Alabama, where I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1997, and then went on to attain my master’s degree in School Counseling in 2001.

I began my teaching career in Mobile County at E.R. Dickson Elementary where I taught 4th and 2nd grade from 1997-2001. Then I moved to Winfield City Schools as the middle school/career technical counselor from 2001-2005. I went back to the classroom in Autauga County at Pine Level Elementary as a 6th grade teacher from 2005-2007. Then I came back to South Lamar and taught 2nd grade in 2008. I took off 4 years to stay home with my two children. In 2011, I went to Fayette County and taught 5th grade at Berry Elementary School for 2 years. I came back to Lamar County in 2013 as the school counselor at Sulligent Elementary. In January 2016 I transferred to South Lamar as the high school counselor. I enjoy working with high school students and helping them make good choices in their personal, social, and academic endeavors.

I like to read, shop, and go hiking. I have a wonderful husband, Luke Bozeman and two beautiful children, Ben Bozeman (6th grade) and Beth Bozeman (5th grade). We are involved in church ministry at Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church in Millport.
