How to become a Bus Driver for Lamar County Schools
In order to be a Bus Driver for Lamar County Schools, you must have your Bus License. In order to receive your Bus License, you must take the following steps:
- Pass a background check
- Pass a 4 part CDL test
- Receive your Learner's Permit
- Participate in a minimum of 4 hours of training
- LCS Transportation Department will enroll you in a Bus Driver Certification Class
- Complete a 4-day Certification Bus Driving Class
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen test
- Get a DOT Physical
Upon completion of the Bus Driver Certification Class, you will receive a B Class License. You will then be placed on our Substitute Bus Driver List.
