The Alabama Scholastic Competition Association (ASCA) has been providing a platform for students across the state to exhibit their academic prowess through thrilling trivia-style competitions between schools. South Lamar, a stronghold of talent and intellect, proudly participates in ASCA with two formidable teams: the varsity and junior varsity squads, both of which are sponsored by AnnElise Aldridge and Mary Kathryn Bozeman.
Our varsity team, captained by Ben Bozeman (Junior), consists of some of the brightest minds in 9th to 12th grades. These exceptional students have been honing their knowledge and critical thinking skills, ready to take on any challenge ASCA throws their way. With a passion for learning and a commitment to excellence, South Lamar's varsity team is poised for success.
The junior varsity team is no slouch either, comprising the talents of 9th and 10th graders led by Sophomore Abby Thornton. These young scholars are the future of South Lamar's academic legacy and are already making their mark at ASCA competitions. Their dedication and enthusiasm serve as a testament to the school's commitment to nurturing emerging talent.
