Welcome to LCST, where the focus is on developing 21st century education and skills. LCST is committed to equipping each student with the knowledge and abilities to begin their path toward a productive future. At this time there are five clusters at LCST: Automotive Services, Cosmetology, Health Careers, Machine Tool Technology, and Welding Technology. LCST also offers the AIDT Ready to Work program for senior students along with dual enrollment opportunities through Bevill State Community College. Our campus serves 10-12 grade students from all three county high schools. LCST operates as a Alabama Simulated Workplace platform where the students and instructors mimic real world environments to help foster a more marketable future employee. Students at LCST have the opportunity to earn Industry Recognized credentials in every department. LCST is constantly updating its equipment to keep pace with the 21st century workplace.     Parent Teacher Conference

    All Lamar County schools will dismiss Thursday, January 16, 2024 at 11:30 for Parent Teacher conferences. Vernon Elementary will dismiss at 11:15. Conferences will be held from 3:00 to 6:00.

    PowerSchool Cybersecurity Incident in AL Schools

    Lamar County School District was notified on January 7, 2025, of a recent cybersecurity incident involving PowerSchool, a widely used education software provider that provides our district’s student information system. On December 28, 2024, PowerSchool identified unauthorized access to certain customer information through its PowerSource portal. The company has assured us that the incident is contained, and there is no evidence of on going unauthorized activity or operational disruptions. Affected data may include sensitive personal information such as names, addresses, and email addresses. Social security numbers were not involved. PowerSchool has implemented enhanced security measures, deactivated the compromised credentials, and is offering credit monitoring and identity protection services for certain impacted individuals. Lamar County School District is working closely with PowerSchool to communicate with families, educators, and stakeholders.

    The Lamar County School's mass notification system will change to a new vendor called School Messenger on October 1st. In order to receive text messages, you will need to opt in to receive them per the instructions below. The new system will send out calls for any school closures due to weather or emergency calls. You will not receive a text message if you have not opted in to receive text messages on your phone.
